What gets read, and what doesn't

The Metadata Viewer reads duration straight from the file and estimates bitrate from file size divided by duration — that's an average across the whole track, not the encoder's real (possibly variable) bitrate. Sample rate and channel count come from decoding the audio locally in your browser, which is skipped automatically for files over 100 MB to avoid high memory use; on those, you'll still get duration, size, and format, just without the decoded sample-rate/channel figures.

Free vs. Pro limits

Free accounts can process audio files up to 500 MB and remove metadata from up to 3 files per batch session; Pro raises the file size limit to 4 GB and removes the batch cap entirely.

Why removing metadata means re-encoding

Metadata Remover doesn't strip tags in place — it decodes and re-encodes the audio into a fresh M4A, MP3, or WAV file, so the output won't carry forward the source file's container tags. If you switch the output format after already processing a batch, those files reset to pending so you'll need to run removal again before downloading.
