Why some scans need a second pass
This scanner tries a fast native decoder first, then falls back through slower passes if that fails — a stricter mode assuming the code fills the whole frame with no border, and finally a hard black-and-white threshold pass for stylized codes with rounded or dotted modules. That last pass helps with logo-in-the-middle QR codes and low-quality screenshots, but it can't recover data if a large logo actually covers modules beyond what the code's own error correction can compensate for.
Camera vs. upload
The camera tab scans continuously from a live video feed, which works well for codes printed on packaging, posters, or a screen in front of you. For a QR code that's already a saved image or a screenshot, uploading it directly is usually faster and more reliable than photographing a photo.
Scan history stays on your device
Recent scans are saved to this browser only, not to a server, so they disappear if you clear site data or switch devices. Use the History panel to revisit a decoded link without rescanning it.
