What the viewer can (and can't) tell you
Resolution, duration, and aspect ratio come straight from the browser's video element, so they're exact. Bitrate is an estimate — file size in bits divided by duration — which is a fair approximation for a constant-bitrate export but will read as an average, not a real-time figure, on a variable-bitrate file. Detailed codec names, camera tags, and every audio/video track aren't always exposed; that depends on what the browser itself can decode from the container.
Supported formats and size limits
MP4, WebM, MOV, and MKV are all supported for reading metadata. Free accounts can load files up to 500 MB; Pro raises that to 4 GB, which matters most for Metadata Remover and the batch tool since those re-encode the whole file rather than just reading a header.
Orientation matters for platform uploads
The orientation field (Landscape, Portrait, or Square) is derived from comparing width to height, which is a quick way to sanity-check a file before uploading it somewhere that expects a specific shape — a Portrait video landed in a feed built for Landscape usually gets letterboxed or cropped by the platform itself.
