Why Not Just Use an Auto-Generated Thumbnail?
Platforms that auto-pick a video thumbnail usually grab a frame at a fixed interval — which just as often lands on a blink, a motion blur, or a mid-transition frame as it does a usable shot. Scrubbing through manually and saving a few candidates to compare side by side gets you a frame that actually represents the video, instead of whatever the algorithm happened to land on.
Frame rate and codec show as "Not exposed" in the Metadata panel because browsers don't surface that information through the standard video element — only duration and pixel dimensions are available without parsing the file's container format directly. This is a browser limitation, not something specific to this tool.
