Artwork Policy Checker
Apple Music's cover art guidelines are strict. We can automatically check the technical rules — square aspect, minimum size, and transparency — but text/watermark/price rules need a manual look, so they're listed as a checklist below.
Visual Guideline Checklist (manual)
The split here is deliberate: square aspect, minimum size, and transparency are objective, pixel-level facts a script can check directly from the image file, so this tool reads them automatically the moment artwork is uploaded. Rules like "no text or price badges overlaid" require actually recognizing what's drawn in the image, which is outside what this checker verifies — hence the separate manual checklist below the automatic results, rather than a false sense that every rule has been confirmed.
Common questions
Why does "no third-party logos" matter if it's just my own artwork?
It usually trips people up through indirect inclusion — a photo shot with a visible phone or camera brand logo in frame, or a collage that happens to include another platform's icon somewhere in a background image. Worth a close look at the whole frame, not just the obvious foreground elements.
What counts as "not properly licensed" stock art?
Generic stock photography — the kind used interchangeably across many unrelated projects — is the specific concern, since it makes a release look uncurated and can raise licensing questions later. Artwork you created, commissioned, or licensed specifically for this release is the safer default.
