Why the toolset is split up like this

X packs a lot of separate constraints into one short post — a hard character ceiling, a header image that crops differently on desktop and mobile, an avatar that overlaps it — so rather than one do-everything editor, each tool here targets a single one of those constraints directly. The Character Counter and Thread Formatter both exist because of the same 280-character wall, just approached from opposite directions: one tells you when you're over it, the other splits long text so it never is.

The mockup tools (Fake Tweet Generator, Thread Screenshot Maker) render with X's actual card styling rather than a generic placeholder, which is what makes them useful for anything meant to look like a real post — an example, a joke, an illustration for an article — rather than an obviously fake template.
