Why does link placement matter for reach?

X's feed algorithm has historically favored keeping people on-platform, so a link placed mid-post — before the actual point has landed — tends to underperform the same post with the link moved to the end.

Is alt text really worth adding to a quick post?

It's the only way screen-reader users get any information from an image at all — there's no fallback description if it's left blank, unlike a caption that at least gives some context around the image.
