Event Post Checklist
Discovery, not just an invite list
Facebook Events double as a discovery surface — a complete listing with the 1200×628-minimum cover, a clear location or online link, and a description that states who it's for tends to surface better in search and in attendees' friends' feeds than a bare-bones one built purely as an invite.
The timezone trap
Facebook converts and displays the listed time in each viewer's own local timezone automatically — which means a single wrong timezone on the original listing doesn't just show once wrong, it silently shifts the displayed start time for every attendee checking from a different region, with no visible error anywhere in the process.
- •Co-hosts extend the listing's reach into their own audience too, not just yours — worth adding even for an event you're mainly running solo.
- •Ticket/RSVP links are worth clicking once after publishing, not just pasting in — a broken or expired link is invisible on the event page itself until someone actually tries it.
