Groups run on rules a public Page never has to think about, which is why this checklist looks nothing like the general Post Checklist:

A public Page post

Moderated against Facebook's general Community Standards, with reach mostly driven by the feed algorithm and any ad spend behind it.

A group post

Moderated first by the group's own admins and posted rules — the same post that performs well on a public Page can get removed instantly in a group with a strict no-self-promotion policy.

Checking for a topic/flair tag before posting matters for reach inside the group itself too: many groups' own feeds and search let members filter by tag, so an untagged post is just easier to scroll past even when nothing about it violates the rules.
