Bio Preview

Instagram bios are limited to 150 characters and render line breaks as-is.

Your bio will appear here.

Instagram's own bio editor doesn't show a formatted preview while you type, so line breaks and spacing are easy to get wrong until you save and check your live profile. Testing it here first — especially with emoji or multiple short lines — saves a round trip of publishing, checking, and re-editing.

150 characters is tight enough that most bios end up as a handful of short, separated lines rather than full sentences — a name, a role, a location, a link callout — and how those line breaks actually render is exactly what this preview is built to catch before it's live on the real profile.

Common questions

Do emoji count as one character each?

Most simple emoji count as one or two characters toward the 150 limit, but composite emoji built from multiple joined characters (a skin-tone modifier, a multi-person emoji) can quietly use up more of the budget than they visually appear to. The counter above reflects the real count either way, which is worth a quick glance if a bio full of emoji looks shorter than the number suggests.

Does the bio's link count toward the 150 characters?

No — Instagram's website field is a separate field from the bio text itself, so a link added there doesn't eat into this character count. Only a URL typed directly into the bio text counts against the limit here.
