Why aspect ratio is checked first
A photo cropped outside 1:1 or 4:5 gets auto-cropped by Instagram's feed grid, and that auto-crop has no idea where the actual subject of the photo is — it can cut off faces or key details that were perfectly fine in the original file.
Why location tags are on this list
Worth adding even for content that isn't obviously about a place, since Instagram surfaces posts to people browsing that location's own feed — a small but real discovery channel separate from hashtags or the main algorithm.
