What the Flesch score actually measures
The Flesch Reading Ease score is a decades-old formula that scores text purely from average sentence length and average syllables per word — nothing about tone, accuracy, or whether the argument makes sense. A higher score (up to 100) means shorter sentences and simpler words; scores above 70 read as "Easy," while anything under 30 is "Very difficult," closer to dense academic or legal writing.

LinkedIn's feed rewards posts people can skim in a few seconds on mobile, where long, clause-heavy sentences slow that down even if the writing is technically correct.
