Post Formatter
LinkedIn truncates feed posts behind "...see more" after about 140 characters on mobile — write your hook so it lands before the fold. Posts are limited to 3000 characters total.

Two limits, two different jobs
The 3,000-character cap is a hard ceiling on how long a post can be at all; the 140-character mobile fold is a much shorter, softer limit on how much shows before someone has to tap "...see more." Most posts never get close to the character cap, but almost every post is affected by the fold — it's the first couple of sentences, not the full post, that decide whether someone keeps reading.
LinkedIn rewards line breaks more than length
Short paragraphs with visible white space between them read as more scannable in LinkedIn's feed than dense blocks of text, independent of total character count — worth keeping in mind since the preview only shows the first 140 characters regardless of how those line breaks are arranged.
- •A specific number or a direct question in the first line tends to earn more taps on "...see more" than a generic opener that could belong to any post.
- •Save the actual call-to-action for after the fold — anyone who reaches it by tapping "...see more" is already reading, so there's no need to front-load it.
