Both cards render with each platform's actual look — Threads uses its own corner rounding and type rather than X's card design reused with a different logo — so what you see here is closer to how the post will actually look than eyeballing a plain character count on each site separately. Since Threads allows nearly twice the length of X, a post written for Threads first will usually need trimming, not padding, when it's adapted for X.

Beyond raw length, the two platforms also treat line breaks and formatting differently enough that a post which reads cleanly on one can look cramped or oddly spaced on the other — checking both renders side by side before publishing to either catches that kind of layout mismatch that a character counter alone would never surface.
