Publishing Checklist
Pinterest's 2:3 (1000×1500px) recommendation isn't arbitrary — pins outside that ratio get cropped down to fit the grid's card shape rather than displayed at their original proportions. Text overlay size matters especially here, since a pin is often first seen as a small thumbnail in a scrolling grid rather than full-size, so text that's readable at full size can be illegible at thumbnail scale.
- •A logo or handle on the pin itself matters because pins get re-shared and re-pinned well past the original post — the image is often the only thing that survives that journey back to its source.
- •Title and description left blank get auto-filled from the linked page in ways that rarely read well or carry the keywords you'd actually choose — worth writing both deliberately rather than trusting the default.
- •Rich Pin metadata is worth a check specifically for product or article links, since that's what turns a plain image into a pin carrying a live price or byline badge.
